Granite — especially dark colors — shows every skipped step as scratch trails under raking light. Run 50# → 100# → 200# → 400# → 800# → 1500# → 3000# without jumping.
- Keep it wet
Water cools the resin bond, flushes swarf and extends pad life. A steady feed and moderate pressure beat brute force every time.
- 3 inch for edges, larger for fields
Edge profiles and cutouts need 3 inch pads that follow the contour; open slab and countertop fields go faster with 4–5 inch pads.
- Inspect dark granite under raking light
Absolute black and similar stones reveal haze invisible in direct light. Check each grit stage before moving on — rework costs more than patience.

What is the best grit sequence for granite countertops?
The safe full sequence is 50# → 100# → 200# → 400# → 800# → 1500# → 3000#. For re-polishing a countertop that only lost gloss, 800# → 1500# → 3000# is often enough.
Wet or dry for granite?
Wet is the standard for granite fabrication — best finish and longest pad life. Dry pads are for on-site edge work where water is impractical.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
